fallin....

it's that time of year again...autumn.
i just hate autumn and why i hate autumn so much:

  1. The interchangeable names.fall and autumn.autumn is kinda cool but fall?..."Hey!Have a nice trip!See ya next fall"...corny huh?!!!
  2. Autumn=Sweater.I hate sweaters.
  3. I hate mushrooms.
  4. That autumn smell.
  5. The falling leaves will rot and then turn slimy....YUCK!!!
  6. Dunno when I should shut down my cooler and turn on my heater.
  7. Have to come up with excuses to skip puasa(Ramadan).
  8. It's also hard to deal with knowing that i'm in for a LONG 6-7 months before good ol' spring to return.

see that sad lookin autumn sky...

good time boys..

another saturday nite out in Ebisu.

met up with Megumi and Kayoko and went to this bar called 'MILK' to see Megumi's friend Danny performing with his band 'Good Time Boys'.It's been quite a while i haven't gone to see any copy bands...in fact i enjoy going to copy band gigs rather than bands who perform their own original songs.
about 'Good Time Boys',they played some tunes from Stone Temple Pilots,RHCP & Rage Against The Machine and their perfomance was superb!!!...just too superb for a bunch of IT engineers who spend most of their normal life tapping keyboards.

hangat-hangat taik...

there's a saying in japanese called mikkabouzu that means never stick or not persistent on doing something.there's also a saying in malay which holds the same meaning as 'mikkabouzu' which is 'hangat-hangat tahi ayam'.i asked my japanese friends about how they got up with this saying mikkabouzu but none of them can came up with the answer (direct translation=3 days bald).
about our 'hangat-hangat tahi ayam',it's meaning and how it applies to the saying is simple(from my translation) 'hangat-hangat'='as hot as','tahi ayam'='chicken's dung'.biologically, when a chicken discharges a dung, the dung will have the same temperature as the chicken's body which is between 39.8-43.6 degrees celsius which is considered warm.when the dung is exposed to the room temperture, the dung will loose the heat energy and eventually it's temperture will go down.
in the philosophical aspect, the heat of the dung symbolizes someone's persistency on doing something which eventually loses it's heat,in this case enthusiasm or passion in a short time period.
from this explaination comes another question which is why 'tahi ayam'(chicken dung) is prefered to be the subject?why not 'tahi lembu'(cow dung...bull shit, hehehe) or 'tahi babi'(pig dung)?there's a possiblity that the image of 'tahi ayam' is less YUCKier than the other 2.
by the way, things on me which are 'hangat-hangat tahi ayam':

  • apple diet on dinner.
  • taking the stairs than the escalator.

nothing more appealing that an escalator next to the stairs

third eye blind...

i'm already an 'ojisan'(pakcik).
it's just recently i've restarted my messenger and my web conferencing(i was really addicted to those about 4,5 years back).after a hard work of digging my 'oshiire'(almari).finally i found what was to be my old faithful webcam.when i connected it to my PC it i realized that it wasn't working...simple PC troubleshoot...the driver was not installed.so i went to the webcam's support page and tried to download the driver...and to my suprise,my old faithful only supports NT,98 and Mac9.0...nobody to blame,it's just a device from those good old days.
oh well, guess i have to move on with it.so the next day,i went to akiba and got myself the orbit.

no left behinds....

a familiar sign near my apartment.
it means something like,'don't leave your dog's droppings behind, take it home with you and then throw it to a proper place'....cool,huh?
hey!we should encourage m'sians who has a pet dog to do the same thing too then we don't really need to be so cautious on our steps so we're not gonna step on that 'taik anjing'.
oh,one more thing, you should not mess around with a japanese who is taking his/her dog for a stroll because he/she has that 'taik anjing' ready to splatter it on ur face.

kena pau...

i still remember when i was in highschool in seremban, whenever i send a love letter to my 'awek'(that time),i have to do this kind of calculation:

  1. 1 day for the letter to be inside the postbox.
  2. 5 days for to the letter to be tranferred from seremban post office->some freight train->taiping post office(my 'awek' was studying in taiping that time).
  3. 1 day from taiping post office to my 'awek''s school.
  4. 1 day for the letter to go thru the student admin screening->school prefect,'pengawas','badan pelajar',etc->finally to the hands of my 'awek'.

so it took about 8 days to get my letter to my 'awek' in taiping.in my case,my 'awek' that time like replying my letters and it took about 2 days for her to reply.
from all that,8 days for that letter to arrive at her school,2 days to reply and another 8 days to get that reply letter back to my school finally to me,over all 18 days.
now after 12 years,do boys still send letters to their 'awek's?i don't think so,i'm sure they are now relying on emails...why not?it's easy, free, instant and of all,no way they gonna be 'pau'ed by any 'pengawas' for their emails.

keitai no hanashi....

I'm sure u guys have mobile phones and....wait...what?!!!,u have one of the latest NOKIA....u rich bastard...then i'm sure u gonna 'tayang' it to ur friends...yeah,u can ask ur friends to hang out at some 'warong' and when your friends started to 'line-up' their mobiles on the table,u just steathily reach for ur brand new NOKIA mobile from ur pocket and put it a little away from the others, hopefully to get an attention. Finally somebody suddenly comes up with that 'cepu emas' question,"hey!is that the brand new NOKIA?" and deep inside,u will go like "YESSSS!!!!".spontaniously u will pick-up ur mobile so everybody can see and answer "ohh,u mean this?".
just another typical example of a m'sian is showing off his brand new mobile.is mobile phone is considered as a symbol of status among m'sia?or is it a necessity(not mentioning it's 'vase' area of coverage)?what will happen if a guy doesn't have a mobile phone(other than being un 'cool')?
in japan, according to the statics, there are 92 milion mobile phone subscibers and if compared to it's population,it's gonna be 2 out of 3 people in japan will have a mobile phone(keitai denwa...or keitai for short). It seems like almost everyone, whether they are standing in line, in a bar or restaurant, in the subway or even walking down the street is looking at or talking into their mobile phone. And why not? japan had indisputably the best cellular service and cell phones in the world.
Cellular coverage is exceptional, nearly every square inch of urban japan, including places guaranteed to be out of service in most other cities in the world including tunnels, underground malls and subways.coverage also available on rural areas, mountains and offshore islands.
japanese mobile phones are more technologically advanced and versatile than their american or european counterparts and as a result, are utilized in aspects that most mobile phone users in the western hemisphere would only expect in Sci-Fi movies.other than functions like download games, video mail and banking services, mobile phone user can use mobile phones as the subsitution for their purse,GPS(comes very handy when i'm lost in the middle of 'kampung'),sing karaoke(i like this one)and join an online dating service.Oh yes - you can also make and receive phone calls.

my karaoke partner

the price of a mobile phone is shockingly cheap.i checked in Akiba last week,u can get a mobile phone(in this case sony ericsson SO505is) with a colored LCD plus a 1.2megapixel ccd camera on it for only 1 yen(that's 3 sen)...but u have to pay a basic charge about RM150 on ur next bill.
due to this, culturally, japan relies heavily on cellular communication. from primary school boys and girls to 70 year old 'datok' and 'nenek' in the 'kampung'.In fact, it is unusual for an individual not to own mobile phone.
what i'm trying to here is,there's a place in the world(i'm living in now) where mobile phone is a necessity...somebody can die if he/she looses his mobile.since m'sia is not up to that level yet,it's not un'cool' for not having a mobile phone.it's still just a subsitute for the good old public phone.

P.T

i take the public transport to work,i take the public transport to go shopping and i also take the public tranport on dates.public transportion is the way to move.in a public transport,i'll be in the same ride with the cleaning makcik, some FOREX broker,Starbucks part-timer staff, the homeless(i hate smelly ones),guardman,etc...we change trains on the same station,we rush on the same train and we are crammed ourselves together(i mean really crammed ourselves) to our destination.what i'm trying to say that taking the public transport makes me humble...hey!!!even whenever i'm back,i'm still taking transnational back and forth from KL to muar and of course,in KL,LRT and putra is my choice of mobility...i just love public transportion(P.T).

shallow hal

do you remember Hal Larson? that guy who was being hypnotized by Tony Robbins as a result hal can only see the inner beauty of a person rather than the outer appearance....is that true that people with "defected" outer appearance has A++ class quality personality?
in related issue, today i was with paul in a thai restaurant in shinjuku,we were sitting at a round table with other 4 people(2 japanese young couples).i told paul to check one of the young japanese couples...the girl was...holy shit!!! absolutely top the line, totally model class babe....but his boyfriend...hehehe...a pug faced, cherry boy looking dude....why is this happenin???are those 2 were the only sole survivor of a sinking ship who were just being rescued from a deserted island after trapped there for more than 10 years or that girl just "rabun".the same thing with the other couple where the guy is totally "kimtaku" class while his GF is looks like a....u know, the other way around....i've seen this a lot in jap or back home in m'sia.
i dunno shit about human psychology but i like making theories on human behaviour by simply observing them and i came up with one which is:

"the outer appearance of a person is in inversely proportional to his/her spouse."

from the theory up there,i think i can categorize myself....emmmm,i'm not good looking soooo... there's a big chance that i may go out with some supermodel class chic real soon....so all lonely and not so good looking guys out there, don't give up,your future GF is gonna be some TV idol looking babe....and for u nice looking blokes....hahaha....too bad.
oh!back to the story with Hal Larson,Tony Robbins says something like "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"....can we apply this in reality?...i prefer something like "good lookingness(beauty) is in the eye of the golddigger(...u know what i mean)".

today i met with paul, chris, rich and her GF,ran.last time we met each other was last halloween...paul is getting married next year, chris gonna get another Z4 to replace his old one and nothing new with rich and ran....

me,paul,chris,rich and ran

it's a wonderful surprise
to see your shoes and your spirits rise
throwing out your frown
and just smiling at the sound
and as sleek as a shriek
spinning round and round

too long in japan...

sept 8th 16:42 tokyo tower from my desk

first i would like to say thank you to kupu-kupu for being kind enough to leave a comment(my bery berrrry 1st) on 1 of my recent postings...i would like to say again terima kasih bebanyak and...BANZAI!!!BANZAI!!!

on today's issue....several years back,i started to make an observation on myself...about my behaviour,my likes and dislikes,my actions,my perception and my opinion.as a result,i have listed below some odd symptoms which i'm experiencing.
after consulting with my close friends(among them 1 is a shrink),they concluded that the reason i'm having the odd symptoms below is because i've been in japan too long.

  • can't have my picture taken without your fingers forming the peace sign
  • on a phone an English-speaking gaijin friend and somehow can't bring yourself to get to the point for the first 3 minutes of the conversation.
  • find yourself bowing while you talk on the phone.
  • feel absolutely nothing strange when there is a makcik in the toilet cleaning the urine bowl next to you while you're peeing.
  • when you pronounce words like "mix" as having three syllibles.(mikusu)
  • think powdered coffee creamer is "milk."
  • think 10 visits to the dentist to fix a tooth is reasonable.
  • use the word "sharp-pen" and can't remember the English name [it was 'mechanical pencil' last time I checked].
  • start saying things like: "Yes, I can't do this."
  • see Japanese tourists in KL who remind you of people back home.
  • get excited by words like: "health," "soap," "fashion," "image,"and "pink".
  • ask a gaijin colleague who wears short sleeves in October, "Aren't you cold?"
  • you say that one of your hobbies is "doraibu."(driving a car)
  • find myself apologizing at least three times per conversation.
  • can't find the "open" and "close" buttons in the elevator because they're in English.
  • having gaijin around me is a source of stress.
  • get a "Nihongo ga joozu" (hey!ur japanese is good) and feel really insulted.
  • get on a train with a number of gaijin on it and you feel uneasy because the harmony is broken.
  • get frustrated at your 'baka gaijin' friends constantly asking you "How do you say ________ in japanese?".
  • ask fellow foreigners the all-important question "How long have you been here?" in order to be able to properly categorize them.
  • have discovered the sexual attraction of japanese high school girl uniforms.
  • think wet umbrellas need condoms.

*gaijin=non-japanese in japan,baka=stupid,helpless

Bangkok changed my life...

Since the 1st time i went to Bangkok(Roppongi da No.1 thai restaurant)about 9 month ago, there is no other thai restaurants in roppongi which can come close.other than it's remote location(once you have been to roppongi, you will know what i mean by remote)...all you can get is the good food.
japanese consumer is always being ripped off by this poshy looking interior...which what they call it the authentic asian atmosphere(including the "illegal" looking foreigners as waiters and waitereses)....but when it comes to the food they are serving, either the quantity of the food is too little or they just made up something which absolutely wayyyy off asian cooking practice and call it "hey!this is real asian food".one "excellent" example of this "japanese stupidity" on asian food can be showed in a well-known asian dining chain MONSOON CAFE.i don't know the particular genius who invented this drink called "asian milk tea"...but i think i know how that genius got the idea...he tried to find, other "asian"ish item he can add into a normal milk tea...after countless testing with thai fish sauce, tempoyak, etc with no tasty results...EUREKA!!!!...finally that genius found the best "asian"ish ingredient to add to that poor milk tea....coconut milk.instead of asian milk tea, that genius just invented another good commercial laxative.

enough with that,i had a nice meal at bangkok during lunch today...thai fried rice.i'm gonna go there again on thursday and friday....so,anybody wanna join?

another monday....

just another monday...another monday...monday...it reminds me of Garfield...oh yeah,he hates mondays...why?dunno.speaking about Garfield,do u know that Garfield the movie is out on the cinemas?...not the animated one but the real one(CGs of course)or anybody have seen it yet?...right,i know u gonna say it...yes,yes,I'm a little outdated here...then try to live in japan, you'll know...
OK,OK,where were we....first the 70's action series, next is Marvel superheroes...then Scooby do,thunderbird, now Garfield...do u know what this means?this means that the Hollywood film makers now have absolutely no idea what a good movie is!!!...anyway,i don't care much,i just wish somebody, preferably Spielberg or Lucas would come out with TRANSFORMERS(the movie)

RM 500 laptop

there was this campaign in tsutaya this week, where 50% discount on all non-latest DVD and CD rentals so i went to my nearest tsutaya this morning.i was thinking of some non-japanese music CDs but i wasn't sure which CD i want to rent so i have to go thru all the "katagana" order to find any CD that I like. Finally i ended up myself at the counter with 2 CDs,the cranberries best album and Avril Lavigne Let Go plus 3 yaiko's and 2 Sheena Ringgo's live DVDs.they should cost about 3000 yen but after discount,it was just 1500 yen....next stop,Akiba.
15 mins later i arrived a Akiba, did the routine check on the latest imported PC games in Asobicity and then got myself a wireless Microsoft keyboard and mouse for my mac(...unlikely combi)...by the way,the new G5 IMAC is still not in Akiba yet, according to the friendly Apple Shop people, the new G5 IMAC will be in stores in Japan next week...emmm...my 5th Mac...still dunno.
when i was returning to my bike and about to head home,i saw this guy with this familiar face...a m'sian face....nak tegur or tak nak...malas ler...tapi tak baik ler kalau tak tegur....so i pun tegur "assalamualaikum, abg or mesia ker?".then that guy replied "waalaikumsalam, org mesia jugak ker?"....then bla,bla,bla....that m'sian guy with few more others came to japan for some "look east"(i thought it was long gone) training sponsored by JPA.according to that guy,his friends are looking for the rumoured RM500 laptop...actually i have heard this same rumour that in Akiba the PCs are so cheap that people lelong the PCs like pisang.from my 7 experience in Akiba, the only RM500 laptops they could find are the 7-8 years back dunno how many "hand" junk laptops.
so i told them the truth about the RM500 laptops and i showed to them cheap places to shop.we also exchanged numbers and business cards....anyway,it was nice to meet and help m'sian who are here....
i arrived home, installed my brand new wireless keyboard and mouse(now all mice are "tailess")...then tido.

natsu no owa...hiiiii......

it's the 2nd day of september today...aiyooo...and it's already thursday!!!....everything so fast.so tomorrow is friday, next there's the weekend then it's gonna be monday again...autumn,winter,spring then summer again....tup tap tup tap i'm gonna be 28,29,30,31...haaaa
my friend said that, when ur 20,it feels like forever to reach 25 but once ur 25,next thing u know it,ur already 30...perut jadi buncit and u starting to smell strange.
at my age right now also,i found out from the beginning of this year whenever my mom or dad calls me from m'sia, they will ask the same question on every calls they make...."recently tak jumpa kawan baru ker?kalau jumpa kawan baru, introduce le kat kitaorg"....sometime also the ask me like this..."pegi le kat embassy tu,tegur le siapa2"....haaaah!!!?????why in the hell diaorg mengelabah suruh i go flirting at the embassy????...i remember when i was in form 2,i still remember that day my dad gave me this advice..."kalau nizam skrg belajar betul2 pastu sambung belajar kat luar negara pastu grad pastu keje gaji besar...ishh...perempuan semua dtg sendiri kat nizam tau.so skrg ni belajar ler betul2,lupakan aje semua cinta monyet tu,tak kemananyer"....apekebenda!!!...i debated this issue with my dad when i went back to m'sia for the new year's holiday and guess what my dad said?....he denied what he said 13 years ago...he denied the whole thing.I remember when was taught in my sekolah agama that if we lawan cakap ibubapa,we'll be thrown to neraka...so i decided not to lawan what my dad said that time....so that's it folks.
anyway,as i said earlier,it's beginning of september and it's time to shop for autumn wear...frankly speaking,i ni suka membazir orgnya...every season i buy new clothes and i think, there are still some autumn clothes that i bought last year which i only wear once or twice and another thing,if i search my closet right now, probably i'll find new clothes that i never wear before...tapi i malas korek, malas nak kemas balik nanti.
so today i went to GAP(hahaha...such a cheap-skate am i) for my autumn shopping.I bought a top and a sling bag worth 12100yen(RM400).

a GQ gentleman essentials

after shopping i was again...so penat, and again,so penat to masak dinner and just like yesterday,i dropped by to my nearest Mcd and bought 2 FOF for dinner.

datdatdat..daaaa....i'm lovin it...NOT!!!

McD dinner 2 days in a row...my friend said, you can die if you eat McD everyday...i dunno if it's just a myth i guess i have to find it out myself.

i worked from 7 to 7 today and i'm so tired...tak larat....so tak larat that i tak larat nak masak dinner.so on my way back from work,i dropped by my nearest McD and bought 2 mchickens for dinner.

merdeka my toilet....

we m'sian should be proud of out country...so am I,i'm really proud to be a m'sian especially as a m'sian earning a living in a foreign country.I'm proud that in a multinational working force which consisted of English,American,Japanese...there's me,a proud m'sian as an essential member of the team. i dunno how yal think about this, but for me,(besides the cash)standing leveled shoulders with other nationalities is a passion which buat i tak nak balik m'sia....
anyway,in this special day,i would like to congratulate my motherland malaysia for her 47th year of independence.
for today's topic other than about i hampir dipelantingkan oleh angin taufan masa pergi kerja pagi tadi...i want to talk about toilet or org m'sia selalu panggil "tandas" or "jamban".
when choosing a place to live in japan thru the real estate salesman,u will surely come across with this question:
"do you prefer a unit-bath or separate bathroom?"
what is unit-bath?unit-bath is bathroom and toilet in one,2 in 1,unlike in m'sia where bathroom is like 3mx3m wide,in japan this unit-bath is only about 1mx1.5m fiberclass chamber with no windows(only ventilating fan on the ceiling)and they packed ur bathtub, toilet bowl and ur sink in it.i have this standard version of unit-bath at home and for how many times i my life the same accident had happened again.when i was having my morning shower this morning,i picked my soap bar(the last 1 on my stock),tried to soap my body then suddenly my soap bar slipped out off my hand straight into my toiletbowl....ooohh,fxxk!!!...instead of buying a new bar of soap from the nearest 7-eleven at 5:30am,i shampooed my body with rejoice 2 in 1.
in related story,i'm sure yal guys and gal out there have problems when the time is come to use the public toilet(esp. when u want to get rid the big-ones).i have the same problem,i'm a little bit choosy on public toilets...here,i only choose public toilets with automatic toilet bowl or so called washlet.

i standard functions for a typical washlet are the rim heater which comes very handy during winter and an automatic washer which swirts water in adjustable pressure and temperture directly to your butthole....aaahhhhh,kimochiiiiii.
i have tried many of these washlets which has many special functions like odour neutralizer, health scan, butthole massager and butthole driyer.

the custom controls

whatever it is as any m'sian would say at this time of year...MERDEKA!!!MERDEKA!!!MERDEKA MY TOILET!!!
